A "Private Lending Investor" lends money on a part time basis and seldom do more than 8 to 10 loans a year.  They understand real estate investing and often are active in that arena as well.  Their source of funds is typically their own excess capital or personal IRA account.  

 

A "Private Lending Business'' can be anywhere from an individual business person who has their own entrepreneurial local private lending business making 20 to 50 loans per year up to a larger company with multiple loan officers making thousands of loans nationwide.
